The Marriage of My Dreams!
Everyone who has experienced the joy of success, the celebration and the benefits that often come with it would understand that it only follows a period of focused and consistent channel of effort, even when it is inconvenient. "True commitment is proven when it is inconvenient to follow through and there is a price to be paid" | Victor Akunna
What then is commitment? According to Cambridge dictionary, commitment is "a willingness to give your time and energy to something that you believe in, or a promise or a firm decision to do something". Marital romance demands commitment. It takes commitment to regularly forgive; it takes commitment to meet your spouse's emotional needs when there is no commensurate show of affection; it takes commitment to consistently go out of your way to speak your spouse's love language; it takes commitment to sexually satisfy your spouse even when you don't feel like it. Whenever we see couples who have been enjoying a happy marriage for a prolonged period of time, what we often don't see is the commitment that has made it a reality.
Marital romance rides on commitment. Do you give up at the slightest sign of an obstacle? Do you explain away your lack of commitment? Are you waiting to see a change in your spouse before committing? What is preventing you from committing yourself to your spouse?
ACTION POINT: Commitment is a product the heart, make a conscious decision today to commit to your spouse and marriage.
