Mourning electrocuted UNILAG student

Nigerian students are still in shock over the death
of Oluchi Anekwe, a highflying 300 level
Accounting student of the University of Lagos
(UNILAG) who died on Tuesday in very tragic
circumstances. Her colleagues have mourned her
passing, protesting offline and paying tribute on
social media.

On course to earn a first class degree, no mean feat in UNILAG, Anekwe had everything going right for her until late on Tuesday when a 330 KVA cable belonging to the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) fell on her as she walked to her hostel.
She was electrocuted to death and effort to rush her to the hospital proved futile. Her colleagues have mourned her passing » , protesting offline and paying tribute on social media » . It is easy to see from the posts that the student community is deeply pained at her death, especially the painful way in which she died. So sad.
