Teenage becomes the very first in London to be robbed for his segway hoverboard!

A teenager was beaten in the face and robbed in broad daylight by four men for his £300 Segway 'hoverboard' - the first case of its kind in London .

Police say the 18-year-old victim was riding the motorised scooter down Enfield High Street when a black Ford Focus stopped in front of him and the gang surrounded him.

One of the attackers hit him in the face before snatching the Segway and getting back into the car and fleeing from the scene.

The Segway is a battery-powered gadget using gyroscopes to keep itself and its rider upright and are banned from the roads.

Stars such as Lily Allen and Justin Bieber have been spotted whizzing around on them, making them more popular.

Police today appealed for anyone who may recognise anybody involved in the robbery at 3pm on Saturday.

Detectives are considering whether it was a targeted attack because of the victim's Segway.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: 'Four men got out of the car and surrounded him. One of the men hit him in the face and took the scooter off him, getting back into the car with the scooter and driving off in the direction of Edmonton.

'The suspect who assaulted him is described as black, 18-years-old, 5ft 11ins and of large build with a small beard. He was wearing a grey Nike hooded top.

'Of the other men that surrounded him, all of whom were black, one was thin wearing a hooded black tracksuit and another man had a scar under his right eye'
