Chelsea appear to have taken pole position in their
bid to land Wembley as a temporary home ground
during the renovation of Stamford Bridge after
making a four-year offer to move to the London
venue.
The offer trumps Tottenham Hotspur 's three-year
offer, and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was quoted
by ESPN FC on Friday telling a meeting of the
club's Supporters' Trust that Chelsea's move has
altered matters drastically.
The minutes of that meeting read:
" DL [ Levy] said that the FA' s stance for
some time had been that it was a
national stadium and they were not
interested in any Premier League club
playing at Wembley .
So , despite offers from THFC [ Spurs] ,
there had been no willingness from the
FA to progress discussions.
Chelsea FC' s offer of a four -year deal ,
which would deliver a substantial sum
of money, had changed this position and
the FA would now consider a PL team . "bid to land Wembley as a temporary home ground

Spurs are in need of a temporary ground for the 2017-18 season before moving into their new home, and it's reported the Football Association would stand to make £15 million per season from each of the clubs for the duration of any deal. It means Wembley could be used as shared lodging for the London outfits, and the FA's stance on allowing a Premier League club to use the stadium has switched due to the lucrative potential of said contracts.
Chelsea don't yet know when they'll begin work on the £500 million revamp of Stamford Bridge, according to Sky Sports, but they have informed the FA they'll need a new home venue for "at least three, possibly four years."
Spurs supporters may have to wait until 2017 before discovering where it is they'll play the 2017-18 campaign, but MK Dons' Stadium mk is understood to have already been lined up as an alternative, per Sky Sports.
